In Alberta, the person who performs a civil marriage ceremony is called a Marriage Commissioner. Marriage Commissioners are appointed and governed by the Alberta Government, but are neither subsidized nor salaried employees.
Brian Napier is an appointed and
licensed marriage commissioner within the Province of Alberta. He officiates wedding and vow renewal ceremonies in a professional and sincere manner. Born in Alberta, Brian has been a resident of St. Albert since 1979. Married in 1976, Brian and his wife Margaret have two daughters, Briana and Celyna. While busy with their academic studies, the girls remain active volunteering within their community and their Province .
A licensed,
practicing Realtor (R), Brian graduated from the University of Alberta,
and is a Professional Engineer by trade. His diverse Executive and technical background spans both the Public and Private sectors. Specializing in advanced telecommunications and information technologies, he has/is Chaired(ing) many Industry, Academia, Government, Health, Education, Public Safety and Volunteer Boards, As a recognized technology futurist and industry leader, Brian is a frequent guest speaker at industry and academia events and has appeared multiple times on television, radio and in print media.
A self-professed "All-Tradesman", when not busy with home development or maintenance, he enjoys camping and recreational golf. He is a second degree Black Belt in the Ch'ang-Hon style of Taekwon-Do, and
student of Taoist Tai Chi. Brian is also an amateur radio operator (VE6BAD), a photographer, (albeit spending far too little time in the darkroom as of late), and recreational musician.
